Hello

I have just installed Nextpvr. It installs fine at it sees my digital devices cards, but then I try to scan for channels I get the error 'faild to start device'

I am normally using Argus TV, and here it have worked for years without problems. I have stopped the argus services and restarted server.

I am testing NextPVR because of media browser 3, there you have a nextpvr plugin.

Logs attached:

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Best regards

I'm not familiar with this device, but in the logs it appears to be failing to hook up correctly.

Can you run filtercheck.exe from the NPVR directory, and post the filtercheck.txt it creates?

It wasn't hooking up because this device isn't correctly publishing it's "pin mediums" correctly. Apps use this information to now which tuner and capture filters go together.

I've attached a patch that will hopefully get it going. It hard codes some rules for this specific device.

Hi

I have used this for sometime now and is happy with it. I have now connected my CI-module to it, but then I attached the CI-module to one of the tuners it is coming with the error again 'faild to start device', for that device.

Attached is log and filtercheck log

Do anyone have an idea to this. Is the CI-module not supported?

Sorry, but it wont work with this manufacturers CI.

Unfortunately there is no standards around how BDA devices do CI, so each and every manufacturer does it a different way. To add support for it, I'd need one of the devices, and some info from the manufacturer on their CI API.

I have recently tried to run the dvb-c tuners of Digital Devices DuoFlex C/T with npvr.
Like the patch for the dvb-t tuners of this same manufacturer, the same error message showed up for the dvb-c tuners.

Is it possible to realize also a patch for these dvb-c tuners?

I've added the log parts of NPVR.log and FilterCheck.log in the attachment.

Because of where we are in the release cycle, it's not possible for me to release patches at the moment, since my build is no longer binary compatible with the release you're running.

Hi sub,

I've just switched from release 3.2.9 to the latest release 3.3.8.
In this latest release with my Digital Devices DVB-C duoflex tuner I also get exactly the same error message response as with the former release.
Is it possible to add support for this tuner in NextPVR?
You can find the log files in message #8 of this thread.
