RaspBMC Tuner Not Available Loop

I've got NPVR setup as a backend and working fine with XBMC on the same machine. Now, I'm trying to use RaspBMC as a front end.

I've got Windows Firewall turned off on the NPVR machine.

RaspBMC sees the Windows machine. Channels and guide info are downloaded no problem.

My issue arises when I try to watch Live TV.

The system goes into a loop of "Tuner not available". My only option is to power down.

My first thought is that I'm running wireless, but I can stream 1080p video to XBMC from my NAS no problem.

Would a slow network cause these symptoms?

I'm going to get a 100' network cable and run it temporarily down the hall, but I won't have a chance for a few days.

Any thoughts? Am I wasting my time with the cable?

This is probably fixed by a change I submitted to XBMC a couple of weeks back. Unfortunately the cogs turn pretty slowly in the XBMC project, so it could take a while for that change to make it through to a mainstream release.

Is there a way to confirm that as my issue? Is there something I should be looking for in the XBMC debug info?

The symptoms sound like it.

The logging around isn't 100% conclusive, but if you want to post the xbmc.log with debug logging enabled, along with the web.log and nrecord.log, I can see if it's still looking likely to be the same problem.

You could also see if enabling/disabling timeshift in the addon settings makes any difference.

I'll post them as soon as I can. It'll be a few days. I'm on the road for a bit.

I've only tried it with timeshift disabled. I'll try enabling it...can't hurt.

I checked and I'm running XBMC 13.1 Beta 2, so it's pretty much up to date.

I'm experiencing the same issue, I'm on the latest RaspBMC (XBMC 13.1 beta 2). Weird thing is I've gotten the playback to semi-work a couple times, but playback would hang and eventually I'd be returned to the XBMC home screen. I believe I had timeshift enabled each time. However, after a reboot it would go back to the infamous "Tuner is not available" message.

Do you have a link to a PR? I'd like to build an OpenELEC image with it to see if it fixes my "Tuner not available" errors as well.
