Hey sub.
I had a thought today. My soundbar has a protection built in that delays sound for 2 seconds. The intention is to protect the sound bar from high input sources when the volume is turned way up. The result is that everytime a commercial comes on or the sound is interrupted I miss hearing the first couple seconds of the commercial/show. This wasn't a problem with old analogue signals as the generic noisiness of the signal kept the sound bar from triggering the protection.
With the advent of digital connections in my setup (HDMI) the "silence" is complete and the interruption of sound happens at inconvenient times. I get around the problem by having vlc play a 20Hz to 20,000Hz sweep repeatedly at a very low volume level (2%). Works beauty but I must restart vlc after every reboot, which is once a night.
Can Npvr have a module that would do this and a switch in the Settings - Decoders section that could turn it on and off?
