I've been trying to install the latest version of NVPR.
During installation a window appears headed NRecord.exe
The window has nothing written in it for a while then
'Process terminated due to StackOverflowException' appears in
the window. Next a window appears informing me that needs to shut down
NRecord. The rest of the installation carries on. I can get the EPG but no live TV.
The tray icon doesn't even appear down by the clock.
I have looked at the log straight after the install but there is nothing in that folder.
What have I done wrong please,

1. Did you install all the prerequisites?.
2. Try running the installer as Administrator.

What version of windows are you running?

Is this an update or a new install??

My first thought was you haven't shut down all the NextPVR processes before trying to do an update... it does pay to check in taskmanager that they have all stopped as for me sometimes one seems to hang on for some unapparent reason.

I used to have a DVB S tuner and NVPR worked with that on same win8.1 os
I now want to use a DVB T tuner so prerequisites should be ok.
I have tried my new DVB T tuner on a friends computer running win8.1 and NVPR and everything worked ok
I am running it as administrator, I'm logged in on my laptop as administrator

I did it as an update first and it didn't work, so I uninstalled it and got rid of nvpr in the users folder, did a deep uninstall so nothing left in registry also. I will all that again and this time I'll check task manager and see if they have all stopped or gone.

I have checked and updated the prerequisites and re installed npvr .
The NRecord.exe screen didn't stay on the screen very long.
After setting up the decoders and epg I still get the message
unable to communicate with recording service trying to view live tv

I'd suggest deleting NRecord.exe and running the installer again.
