I'm currently running npvr 3.3.8 on a Windows 7 Home Premium desktop system. This system stays off the internet so scheduling Manual Recordings on a recurring basis is the preferred method.

The issue that I am having is that I may schedule npvr to record a program every Tuesday from 7 PM to 8 PM. The recording is successful on the first Tuesday after the recording is scheduled but fails to start the computer and do a recording on the second Tuesday.

I read somewhere that someone used a 'npvr -recurring' command. Is this what I need to do once a week or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance and for a great program.

I'm sure you have a good reason for not having that computer online, but things are so much easier with an epg. Why don't you put an xmltv file on a memorystick and use it to schedule recordings once a week? It can't be much more work than scheduling manually?

It does the equivalent of "NextPVR.exe -recurring" overnight automatically. If you can post your nrecord.log, I can check what happened when it tried to run last night.

Yes I also run the command "NextPVR.exe -recurring" around once a week. From what I observe, pending recordings generated from the manual recording schedules is around 10 days, so running that command once a week is fine.

Hi, Reddwarf-

Here is how recurring should work...I schedule a program for 7 PM to 8 PM to occur every Tuesday night for a set channel until I cancel it in the scheduler. This method does not require the need for me to schedule the recordings once a week. I set it once and it's done.

Hi, Kiwi-

I'm thinking that this should be an automatic thing instead of me having to remember. If this needs to be done then I'll set up a schedule for the computer to do that. I thought it was strange that it didn't show up in Pending. Running the command made the recurring programs show up in the Pending.

It is automatic, unless you've disabled it. though I do wonder whether NRecord runs the recurring update if there's no EPG data at all?

I did have the EPG update turned off. After all...I wasn't going to use the EPG so why enable it.

As a troubleshooting step I have turned it back on.

Attached are the logs from yesterday and today. It appears to have updated today if I'm interpreting the logs correctly. The .1 log is when I forced it but provided anyway.

Thanks.
