I am new to this forum. I have just installed the latest version of Npvr. So far I have been using Windows Media Centre with my HDHomerun tuner, but have been tempted to change to NPVR. Having now made the change I have a serious problem. First of all I have not been able to get the EPG to work (that's a different problem), so I have made some manual recordings instead. Using the main program - the NextPVR, making a timer recording works fine. But using the web interface (IP:8866) I haven't been able to make a timed recording that works properly. As soon as I fill in the form for name of recording, date and time to start, time to end and I click Record, the recording starts immediately. Even when there are several hours to go before the show I want to record starts airing! I have tried the web interface on the local PC, on a different PC on the same LAN, an iPad, and I have tried using both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome - and Safari browsers. There's no difference. The recording starts immediately in all instances. - As I say: the only interface I have found to work is the built-in Record interface within the NPVR program itself.
I am enclosing my logs for your study.

Best wishes

I can't help you with the web-interface but the best would be if you could get the epg to work. What exactly is the problem with the epg?

Well, leaving the settings as they are per default doesn't get me the EPG. It just says "no show details" all over the place. I'm in Denmark, and I don't know which option to use in the settings under Channels. It says that there are 2 sources next to every channel, though, but what do I choose? - XMLTV, Dvb/Atsc epg, Schedules direct or Freesat (UK) - probably not the latter, though! I receive my TV signal via cable (Yousee TV)

About my Manual Recordings: on occasion a timed recording WILL actually be created, and it will present itself as Pending. But only on occasion.

Does this help? http://niels.dybdahl.dk/xmltvdk/index.php/Forside

XMLTV is a standard used to obtain TV listing info by downloading from the Internet. A XMLTV grabber program obtains data and creates an XMLTV file. Under Channels, set NextPVR to point to the file. You can use Bulk Map to set many channels to point to the same file.

Thanks. Is it possible to set NextPVR to point to a server on the internet instead? Installing the grabber sounds a bit complicated.

I think the only server that NPVR directly supports is Schedules Direct which covers the US and Canada and is starting to expand to the UK. It is US based and costs $25/year. Great service. You could check with them to see if they have any plans to expand to non-english speaking countries.

The xmltv grabber is not too complicated to set up, at least the one I tried. Look for mce2xml. If you want to try the Danish one that Graham found, you should be able to get some help here.

I seem to remember that SchedulesDirect is setting up service for Denmark too (but not Norway yet Sad)

@Jaggy: Off topic, but is JustRetro up to date with 3.4.8?

@Reddwarf: Still off topic, no it's not, but it's just a couple of popups that need to be updated & copying the ones from default should work fine
