Hi

I have over the last week installed GBPVR and I am really impressed - it is working great (even the Hauppauge PVR 150 IR blaster channel changer is working for my UK NTL PACE cable TV box now).

BUT I am using BLEB as the EPG source - one of the channels I have on NTL is E4+1 which is exactly the same as an existing channel (E4) but repeated 1 hr later - great for avoiding overlaps. However BLEB doesn't list E4+1 - it just lists E4.

I tried getting XMLTV to work as an alternative to BLEB in the hope it would have E4+1 but got stuck (I downloaded the files as directed and ran XMLTV but could never find any resulting XML file to link the EPG to in GB-PVR - I guess I'm making some basic error!) But in any case having looked at the XMLTV site in the process I don't think it has E4+1 either so I gave up on that idea!

Any suggestions how to get E4+1 would be great e.g.
1) Is there some setting in GB-PVR I'm missing to deal with this?
2) I was wondering if anyone has a plug-in/batch file etc to take the existing BLEB E4 listing and just add a new record with E4+1 with all time listings 1 hr later. If not how would I do this (please note I have only ever written programs in Pascal, BBC basic and done Excel macros to download and analyse web page data!)
or 3) Of course if XMLTV has E4+1 then any suggestions how to set it up and get it to work would be great!

Many thanks

Tim

Sorry, but there is nothing in GB-PVR to cope with this odd ball situation you want to cover. To work around this, you'll need to move the XMLTV and find your own way (external of GB-PVR) to ensure the XMLTV file includes your E4+1 listings.

This utility works very well and is extremely easy to configure. Its only downside is that it downloads a few weeks ahead, and you'll find that some programmes will be billed as "To Be Announced" as the schedule hadn't been firmed up at the point of download and GB-PVR doesn't replace information in the EPG once it has been populated.

I agree but its the best solution for him if he can't get xmltv to work.

Great - many thanks - I will look into birtles.

Do you know of anywhere that I can find a real fools guide to how to get xmltv to work e.g. stating what I need to type into the command line prompts to get the first xml files, what if anything I need to change in which batch files - often people have left heplful posts but when I try and follow through I find that they have assumed a little more expertise than I may have!
