Trying to set up the program and when I click either the Decoder or DVD Tabs, the client crashes to desktop. Just updated to Win 10. Any ideas where to start?

If you upgraded from Windows 7, you had probably selected Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for MPEG2, but that was no longer a valid choice in Win8 and is presumably not in Win10 either.

You can open config.xml with Notepad and under heading <Decoders> set <DecoderMPEG2>Disabled</DecoderMPEG2> and <DVDDecoderMPEG2>Disabled</DVDDecoderMPEG2> for now, being careful to save as .xml rather than defaulting to .txt. Then you should be able to select new MPEG2 decoders, but I'm not sure what to suggest for Win10.

You could try the SAF6 decoder pack. Search this forum. Or try the LAV filters. Google search LAV. On some hardware NEXTPrv and LAV do not play well with each other, especially with low end CPUs.

OttoDeFe, If you were using Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder before upgrading to Win10 and were having no difficulty getting video after upgrading, see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post490095

I would first make certain that Hoborg has SAF6 ready for Win10 use.

Did a fresh install of NextPVR as I was using WMC to do the recording. before the update.

Tried this, no effect.

I just tried on my upgraded tablet and it hung for me too. No message or anything in the event logs. Ends on the same line as the OP

No error message - The tab starts to draw, I see a couple dropdowns appear and the program just disappears.

Sorry for my bad guess. If those are the only Settings tabs affected, then maybe a bad default setting. Perhaps no EVR (enhanced video renderer) on affected installations? Martin will figure it out.

Because I found the GraphStudioNext hung pretty much the same way as NextPVR did I downloaded the latest K-Lite Codec pack Full and (avoiding crapware) GraphStudioNext and NextPVR now worked.
