After more than a few false starts with NextPVR I'm ready to throw in the towel and try deleting it from my computer completely. I've gladly donated to the cause, tried various fixes and yet the persistent issues drive me nuts.

How can I delete everything completely? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

uninstall using programs & features
delete the npvr data directory
in regedit find & delete hklm/software/npvr, or hklm/software/wow6432node/npvr if you're running 64-bit
at administrator command prompt "sc delete npvr recording service"
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

Thanks----I really, really hate doing this but it seems NextPVR has a bit of growing pains to suffer through yet-----perhaps another time.

Why not just describe the problems that you are having so that we can fix them just as we have done for the problems that you have encountered in the past?

I've tried seeking help via the support forums but two things crop up: others are experiencing the same issues and/or I'm asking to .ZIP and attach my log files which I don't know how to do.

Sounds like I'm taking drastic measures but time is an important commodity.

The location of log files and the process for attaching a file to a post in the forum is described at ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post480931

The process to zip a folder and the files contained in that folder is to right click on the name of the folder in Windows Explorer and select Send to ... Compressed (zipped) folder.

All this eludes me---thanks for trying to help me---its hopeless and I'm out of patience.

Disregard this attachment link----its useless.

Really too bad. I've tried several "NextPvr like" alternatives and NextPvr is clearly the best for me. But I am not doing anything much off the norm, just SD homerun and homerun prime off antenna and Comcast cable. Been working pretty much flawlessly for 2 years now. But .... I understand everyone has their limits and I will say that all these HTPC type systems require a certain amount of computer savvy to get setup.

I wish you the best.

I had/have great hopes for NextPVR----the release before the most recent seemed to work just fine. Knowing at some point WMC will be gone an alternative is of high interest to me. I don't mean to sound the least bit unappreciative for the effort being made here nor bashing the product at all---I'm simply frustrated its not yet far enough along to work a bit more smoothly.

Oh well......................

While I understand your frustration..I can tell you the other solutions will be pretty similar. This type of exercise regardless of product is not an off the shelf turn it on and it shall go type exercise.

These machines once running are really powerful in what they do.....but they're a lot more effort that a simple consumer device that you plug in and go (tivo/branded pvr). They do require to get your hands dirty and be pretty comfortable with navigating around a filesystem and following varied instructions from varied sources (with varying levels of verbosity).

WMC was a bit of an anomaly in that it was pretty consumer friendly if you happened to live in the US...everywhere else was told to go jump as microsoft never really invested in anywhere else, so we had to jump through all sorts of hoops/implemtn lots of hacks to get any where near the same functionaity.
