Just wondering if its possible to setup the nextpvr addon in kodi to access my server at home to watch tv over the net. Figured this is a long shot b/c of the file sizes but thought i'd try... i have port 8866 open and can get guide data but i have no idea what other ports to open to access my 6 tuners when i actually click on a channel to watch it.

I'd more likely create a VPN connection and try to stream it that way. I typically don't open ports up directly on the internet due to potential security holes.

I have an ASUS router with OpenVPN, although I haven't used it a lot, it does seem to work for watching recordings, I have not tried live TV.

I addition to the the port, you need to modify the allow remote streaming setting in config.xml. I'd suggest changing the default PIN if nothing else.

Upload bandwidth is an issue, I do have transcoding support in x-newa and x-newa web client which works at lower bandwidths.

Here are a couple of samples.

I have used the capture card client (in my case hauppage wintv) with great success in this. But it does require an open port. You may have better luck that way as its one less layer to the card.
