Good evening all,

I am trying to watch live TV but when I change channels NPVR locks up. It locks up only on my client, the server works fine. When I restart live tv on the client, it tuned to the channel I was trying to change to.

I've attached logs from the client. Any help would be appreciated.
Chris

I have had this issue from time to time. It had disappeared for the most part when I switched to W10, but recently on one of my clients, it is again ,occasionally happening, but not always - I have been unable to get it to repeat. It is most frustrating because it seems to happen most when my wife tries to change channels, lol - causing me to stop what I am doing and help her change channels. (It also happens to me on occasion as well).

It happened to me again today, several times. Logs from server & client attached - when unzipping, files will place into corresponding folders (server/client).

might just be your decoder; some decoders are known to react badly to channel changes. I don't recall whether I've seen ffdshow blamed for this or not. I know LAV Video Decoder (I realize you're using LAV for Audio only) and the ATI MPEG-2 decoder are bad at this. Cyberlink is supposed to be pretty good.

Decoders are the first thing I thought of - tried several of them (ffdshow, pdvd13, LAV - yes I know this one is problematic) , same result. Note sometimes the channel change works just fine, at other times, picture freeze - as it happened this morning.

It is only occurring one on of the clients - Dell Optiplex 760, E7300 core 2 duo, 4 GB ram, 1 TB harddrive, radeon 5450 graphics (HDMI), running W10. Other clients, with similar specs are all working without this issue.

I tried all the available codecs and none worked with the exception of the one I have configured. I checked the server and confirmed it was using the same codec, Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder. Because I am using network tuners, I deleted the installation on a client PC and reinstalled NPVR on that machine as a server and channels changed fine. I then put it in client mode and the channel changing problem came back. I've attached the logs from the test machine showing the channel changing working then changing it to a client and channel changing not working.

Thanks!
Chris

You need the server side NRecord log to show why an EOF is being found in the stream.

Good evening, sorry for the delayed response. I recreated the error and attached both server and client logs

This offset looks really wrong

2015-11-04 20:55:39.254 [DEBUG][4] CLIENT-READ: 233881274 bytes from offset 516773199740928 (file length: 3068160)

Also are you server and client times synced with Internet time?

The client syncs every 12 hours, left over when it was doing something else. The server is a brand new Win 7 install so it's syncing to the default of one week. I just compared times on both machines and they're about 1 minute off from each other
