I have had for a long time across multiple versions of NPVR where switching channels takes up to one minute when watching live TV. I have the channels pinned so I can click in the list to change channels. When I click on another channel the channel number updates immediately and the screen freezes for up to one minutes. Then sound will come back first and eventually the channel I changed to displays. And sometimes it never actually comes up and I have to closed and reopen NextPvr. Any Ideas. I am running a quad core computer with 8 gig of ram so it should be a processing power issue.

I just got a message when switching channels that the tuner you were using was required for a recording. Sad

It shouldn't be more than about 5 seconds worse-case.

Restart the recording service (to reset the logs)), then reproduce the problem and post the logs. Ideally just show a two or three channel changes, so the logs don't have too much crap in them.

what decoder are you using? this sort of problem often comes down to the decoder barfing on the sudden stream change; sometimes skipping backwards a bit after waiting about 10 seconds will get it going.

I found when building a new PVR 7-8 months ago that faster CPU and two new tuners made quite a difference to the channel switch speed. Either or both could have been the factor.
- Silent client PVR: HDPlex HS.1 aluminium fanless case / Thin-ITX ASRock H81TM-ITX motherboard / Intel Celeron 1850T CPU / 4GB RAM / 120GB SSD / TBS6982 DBS-S2 dual-tuner card / Win10+nPVR+Plex Media Player feeding LG OLED55B6V + Anthem MRX510 AV Receiver / PMC GB1 / B&W / REL speakers.
- Noisy NAS: Xeon / Intel mobo / 16GB RAM / FreeNAS + Ubuntu VMs on VMware ESXi + 12TB RAID
running Plex Media Server
