Has anyone figured out a way to display Series Premieres using Schedules Direct?

When I was still using Microsoft's EPG, I ran a routine on the XMLTV file to convert the "premiere" flag to a category, thereby enabling TV Listings to sort out those shows.

It doesn't appear to me that Schedules Direct sets a "premiere" flag for new series.

I am aware there is a "IsPremiereOrFinale" tag in Schedues Direct, but MC2XML doesn't presently look for that field.

Sub needs to bring the data in from SD JSON http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...es-Finales likely as a new field. Whether alibert choose to do something with it in TV Listings is another question.

Martin,

Thanx for your response.
I saw that thread, but it's old and I wasn't sure if sub changed his mind.

So the bottom line is it's not possible (currently) to get series premieres displayed if I'm using SD?
Too bad; I really liked having that capability previously.

If you remind me closer to 3.7.x, I'm happy to add it.

Martin,

I don't know if you would be interested in this or not, but I've come up with a work-around for this problem.
(at least for me, since I still use MC2XML)

The developer of MC2XML agreed to add (to the donator version) of his program the ability to include the 4 JSON fields in the output file.
At that point I run a little utility I wrote to convert the JSON fields into "category" fields.
(it's actually adding the year to movie titles and the original-air-date to series also)

I simply added the new EPG genres to the DB and told TV Listings to filter them.
It may sound a bit clunky but the results are what I was looking for.
I can now quickly see all the premieres and finales.

Sorry to pick this up so late, but does your utility work directly on the JSON data, or do you convert to XML first? If the former, I'd be interested in a copy if that's OK with you - just for the movie year?

I think it would be better if Sub could update to pull in more info from SchedulesDirect such as Cast, Movie Year etc instead of having some sort of using a bodge to do it

sub: Did pulling in the additional data from SD JSON make it into 3.7.7?
