I have been having trouble since I took off a NAS for renovations and have noticed an error that this killing NRecord service

Application: NRecord.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.NullReferenceException
Stack:
at NShared.RecordingService.WorkerThread()
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(System.Object)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object)
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

The last line in the logs are always something like this

2016-01-14 19:59:03.374 [DEBUG][9] Started recording (15093:1:K:\The Big Bang Theory\The Big Bang Theory.S09E13.The Empathy Optimization.ts)

Can you see if disabling downloading artwork stops it happening?

Thanks that did it. I thought I already had it turned off but you must have added a type later in beta cycle Even with everything disabled I do see lot of logging about metadata.

I am not downloading art but the invalid share is still crashing the recording service.

2016-01-24 23:14:08.125 [INFO][9] HDPVRRecorder.StartStream() allocated handle: 0x1
2016-01-24 23:14:08.177 [DEBUG][9] Temp at 24/01/2016 11:14:18 PM
2016-01-24 23:14:08.177 [DEBUG][9] Started recording (15133:1:K:\Homeland\Homeland.S05E01.Separation Anxiety.ts)
2016-01-24 23:14:08.185 [DEBUG][9] Invalid file passed to StartParallelProcessing(): 'K:\Homeland\Homeland.S05E01.Separation Anxiety.ts'

I am hoping to get my share working again soon but hopefully this can be fixed.

Is that the very last thing in the logs? In itself, this doesn't seem to pinpoint any error.

Code:
if (File.Exists(scheduledRecording.Filename) == false)
                {
                    Logger.Debug("Invalid file passed to StartPostProcessing(): '" + scheduledRecording.Filename + "'");
                    return;
                }

Yes. The trace error in post 1 is likely the crash since it is untrapped and shows up in eventvwr.

Is this the main recording directory, or a recording set to go to one of the extra recording directories?

I don't suppose you get c:\temp\crash.mdmp when it crashes? I can't seem to reproduce this.

What type of tuner were you using (HDPVR / ATSC etc)? I'll try the same type of tuner.
