I'm having an odd problem... I have several shows set to record (most set to record season or season/timeslot). As expected, there are several conflicts that arise.

This is what happens:
I go through and resolve the conflicts.
The next morning, the conflicts have all returned.

I presume this happens during the night when the EPG updates (I think I have it set to update at 6 AM).

Has anyone else experienced this problem? This has happened ever since I installed a few nights ago. For now, I am resolving conflicts on a day-to-day basis (e.g., resolving all my conflicts for today only).

How about setting the start and end buffer to 0 minutes? This sorted out all sorts of conflicts I thought I didn't have Smile

I haven't tried that, but it would seem to me that that would not necessarily fix my problem.

For example:
Show A is 1p - 2p
Show B is 1p - 1:30p

If I resolve this conflict, it reappears the next day. Changing the buffer wouldn't address a direct conflict such as this (and I am running into direct conflicts).

If anyone has any other ideas, I would appreciate your input. Thanks!

I'm aware of the problem and will fix it in a future release.

Each night after the EPG update will scan to find all shows that match a season recording's title. For any that are found it'll schedule a recording. When you cancel a conflicted recording, it'll do the same thing the next night after the EPG update.

Oh, OK. I wasn't able to find any other posts on this - I'm surprised other people haven't talked about it! If I missed it, my apologies.

Thanks for writing some amazing software, btw. I have only been using it for a couple of days, and it just gets cooler and cooler.

It seems to me giving each show a unique priority number (say 0-255) would solve the problem. Any recurring show would inherit the "season" show's priority.

When scheduling, instead of prompting to delete a recording, ask which show should have the higher priority. Whatever selection you make moves other programs up or down the rung accordingly.

Even better! Search for future airings of that episode and offer to record those! Oooh! Something ELSE to add to the feature request section!

I read someone else's suggestion that there should be an option to rank a recording 1-10 (when setting the recording). I thought that would work out nicely.

That would also be great if you have a lot of recordings to watch -- you could watch them according to priority (sort by rating, like iTunes).

I Noticed that from the first time I used it, I just go in every morning and clear out the conflicts for the next 24 hours.

BTW Thanks again Sub for resolving the no-conflict issue I was having with 2 capture sources on 1 card!
