My PC setup includes a second hard drive that I have dedicated for video storage (including NPVR recordings). Lately I started getting warnings that my primary hard drive is running low on space. Upon investigating, I found that my Recording Directories setting somehow became set to "C:\Temp\". Sure enough, my most recent recordings appear to be stored in that folder.

Since my dedicated video drive has plenty of open space, can I move these recordings that are stored on C:\Temp to my dedicated video drive? How will NPVR then find them? I assume it maintains in internal database that saves where each recording is stored. Can this be updated to point to the new location?

Any pointers on how to best do this would be most welcome.

I'd recommend backing up the c:\users\public\npvr\npvr.db3 file before you do anything.

After moving the files, you could edit the c:\users\public\npvr\recording-backup.xml, and update the paths to your moved recordings, then use the 'import recordings' to import that xml file.

My suggestion would be to have both folders ... the "from" folder and the "to" folder in Settings --> Recordings ... and use the Archive function to move the recording files ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...Recordings (near the bottom of the page).

But, you have to move (Archive) one file at a time which might be a chore if there are lots of files.

Thank you both... there are not a lot of files, so I will definitely look into your suggestion Graham.
