My fresh win10 (1607-14393.10) install and npvr 3.7.7, select manual "update EPG" works briefly then crashes wholesale?

npvr log files attached
crash1.mdmp file (original *.exe)
crash2.mdmp file (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...uses-crash)
Dotnet event log inc.
Npvr event log inc.

Also there are a handful or so missing channel icons in both npvr and ff browser, for example channel 1 (BBC1) The BBC ONE.png it is in the correct media/channels folder but will not display these icons, strange or what am I missing here?

I'm old so any answers given need to be easy to understand. I'll turn off the npvr server until a suitable resolution can be offered.
Thank you for your time

Can you install this patch, then do an 'Update EPG' again, then repost log/crash info? I've added some additional logging info.

The replace the file, you'll need to run the 'Stop NPVR Server' shortcut.

Thanks for your prompt attention.

I replaced the NShared.dll as instructed and did the EPG update, it did NOT crash!

I tried the EPG update several more times, it did NOT crash!

I stopped Npvr, replaced your test-NShared.dll with the original, restarted, update EPG... crashed

Stopped Npvr, replaced again the original file with your 'NShared.dll, run the updated EPG is did NOT crash!

I do not know what is happening here but I will continued to try your test-NShared.dll till or if it crashes to provide you with this additional information.

Thanks

Has there been a posting before about missing channels icons that you can point me to because again I don't understand why I should get 90% showing and the others not?

I'm not aware of any issues with this.

It looks in c:\users\public\npvr\media\channels from the channel name plus ".png" or ".jpg". The channle name is stripped of any invalid charaters like : / ? * ' % > < |

The file name for the icon in c:\users\public\npvr\media\channels must match the Channel name in the NextPVR settings screen/Channels.
In your example above, you can either rename the file to BBC1.png or rename the Channel to BBC ONE (in the details Menu)

Most of the icons from the Wiki have the UK Freeview name (Mendip Transmiter) sometimes the freesat names are a bit different.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

If you can't get the icon to go, you can supply your npvr.db3, and a zip of your c:\users\public\npvr\media\channels directory, and I'll tell you what's wrong with the names you used.

Thank you for your reply. This highlighted exactly what I needed to do. I needed to add spaces in the *.png file name and having corrected those that did not display I'm happy to say I now have a full house.
Thanks once again.

Thank you for your help Sub

I have now resolved the missing EPG icons issue from this thread Lao Pan.

I still do not understand why I has those repeatable EPG crashes for several days, then I tell you about it and as of now not had a crash with your (test) NShared.dll running. Should it happen again perhaps you will allow me to send you the updated info you require.
Thank you

Any error messages in your npvr.log when you try to do the EPG update now? (even if you're not seeing any error on the screen)

Sorry for the delay so many other problems to resolve but I just done a manual EPG update now with the following error shown below:

2016-08-14 16:11:45.135 [ERROR][3] Unexpected error updating EPG: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at NShared.EPGManager.UpdateEPG(IEPGUpdateCallback callback)

Hope this helps?
Could I trouble you to point me to some understanding why when adding Media folders in the setting page, it show the folder names correctly but not any content, example d:\npvr\radio\Clare Teal\*.ts not shown?

Since doing this clean 1607 build install I've yet to record anything but I working on it to get it right had no problem with 1511 so I feeling the strain.

Thanks
