After years of happily using GBPVR I installed NVPR in a desperate attempt to capture the Rio Olympics. The issue that I had with GBPVR seems to be happening with NPVR and that is the recordings stop before they are are supposed to. No pattern to how long they last - a few minutes to several hours. I have an HDHomerun with two tuners on which I have upgraded the software/firmware to the latest.

Any ideas on what is causing this? I am attaching zip files for the NPVR log, NRecord log and ndigitalhost-20log.

If you've noticed it has stopped recording, you probably need to run up the HDHR Config utility to check the signal is still locked, and green, sending data, and still tuned to the channel you expected it to be tuned to.

If you're using wireless, maybe tried a wired connection.

Sounds like a problem that was in the initial release of 3.7.7 that sub fixed in a later build. If you installed 3.7.7 shortly after it was released, I'd suggest installing the current version.

Checked HDHR Config utility and the signal was green on all counts and tuned to the correct station. How would I check if it is "sending" data and "locked"?

I just installed 3.7.7 yesterday so assume this is the latest?

I had restarted the recording service prior to posting this and NPVR is currently writing a video file. Took another look at HDHR config and I see that it indicates a network rate and a network target and does appear to be sending data. Still not sure aout what "lock" means.

I'm talking about having a good signal strength. I don't have any HDHR devices connected at the moment, so can't run it up and tell you the exact terminology they use.

Took another look at HDHR Config and tried to change the channel. It will not let me so I assume that qualifies as locked. I will wait to see if another recording stops prematurely and will take a look at the HDHR Config to see if it is sending and Locked at that time.

It is worth noting that when these recordings stop prematurely that the NPVR recording service status is "running". However I have found that restarting it initiates a continuation of the recording process resulting in a second video file being created for the one requested recording.

It's not so much that I'm talking about, but the signal strength/quality. ie, whether it's managed to lock onto a good signal.

This sounds like NextPVR is still trying to record, but nothing is coming from the device. Restarting it forces the device to retune, which may prompt it to start delivering data again.

I had left the HDHR Config Utility open on the desktop to monitor it sending data. I just received an audible alert and a message window from HDHomeRun Config GUI with the message "ERROR: communication error".

I failed to mention that the recording had stopped.
