After a new version of NPVR is released, problems occasionally surface that are posted and, for the most part, quickly resolved. Some resolutions take the form of a "patch." Is there somewhere in the forum that lists the currently applicable patches for the latest release? What is the best way to get the all the patches that have been posted for a release? It would be a great way to check to see if a problem already has a fix and also keep a release at the latest level.

Download the install .exe again (even though it has the same name) and run it as you would for a "normal" upgrade. Any updated files will be replaced by the new versions.

Once upon a time ... a hero worked tirelessly to keep track of the patches and maintained a sticky post that listed the latest patches and the problems that were fixed by each patch. That hero has now retired from that task and we are looking for a new hero to step in and take on this important job.

Not true, sub only does this occasionally. Lots of critical (for some) patches in 3.7.7 not in the current installer hopefully to make user support easier sub will add versioning to his compiles.

The last couple releases really have had so few patches they weren't worth my effort to put together a patch list (and admittedly this coincided with a definite wane in my interest in doing it). I see this time around there have been a few more, of which a couple are semi-critical for some users, so perhaps I should see if I can round them up. I had indeed been hoping that sub would implement some sort of between-release versioning thus eliminating the need for a patch list altogether.

The early July 'npvrtsmon' patch was quite critical... the bug it corrected prevented recordings from being made, which is the whole purpose of the program!

This policy of updates without any notice or version number change is quite puzzling indeed.

Perhaps a new minor release, around the 1st of Sept before the fall season begins in North America, that include all of the bug fixes since the release of 3.7.7.

There is some changes coming to the release process, which will see us move to smaller more frequent releases. Some work to support this done 3.7.7, but it's not quite ready yet.

I can only offer my deepest respect for your work in the past and humbly express my hope that you will find the time to continue the good work until Sub has resolved the issue Smile
