After another Windows 10 upgrade was forced upon me, I now get an error that says "your computer is low on memory" when ever I watch live television for about 45 min. When I look at the task manager, the Windows Desktop Manager is consuming all of the memory. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this one. I only see the problem when watching live tv through NextPVR. All drivers are up to date. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes, this is a known issue with W10 anniversary edition. Still no fix from Microsoft. I also have encountered other issues relating to DWM on W10A that have no relationship to NPVR.

I am not so sure it is a Windows 10 Anniversary issue. I have 2 machine one 32 bit and the other 64 bit. Constant failing on the 64 bit one, but none on the 32 bit. Plus I have installed Kodi, MediaPortal, Win Tv, VLC, Media Player, Plex, Jrivers, etc.. and never have a memory leak. In my case it stays with NextPVR on the 64 bit version. Only occurs during playback of TV shows and movies. Finally decided to use the new Kodi 17 and so far zero issues. Have the 3.4.6 NextPvr client installed. Would rather use NextPvr, but consistently fails every time. Don't know who the culprit is, but very annoying problem. In my case I only reboot about once a month. To bad be can't chose our internal player, I would chose VLC for playback. Rock solid.

I had the problem of DWM gobbling up tons of RAM with Windows 7. Still happened with Windows 10 version 1511, but now version 1607 (anniversary edition) seems to have fixed it at long last. go figure.

4 out of 5 of my clients have the problem with W10A, the one that doesn't has a problem that when running nextpvr, the slideshow freezes- very wierd. also, I have found that in W10A, the task scheduler does not execute its scripts with "highest privilege" - this is a pain on my main HTPC where I need to reset registry settings on various audio features (Realtek HDMI audio) that are not persistent after re-boot.

I really whish I there was a solution to the issue, most of the other pvr products are very cumbersome to use and setup. Also I have 2 harmony 300 remotes ; one configured for nextpvr and the other for Kodi. NextPVR has the best UI, and does everything I want to do. Might up the memory to 128 gig, and boot every week or so. Another strange issue I found was running nextpvr in windows 7 compatibility mode seems to speed up channel switching. Maybe I have a strange machine. It is an I-7 4700 8 gig with a gt630. I also have an Haupauge quad tuner board.
Glad yours in working, may switch to my 32 bit machine soon. It is a new I-5 with 16 gig.

The two things you could try - switch to a different video renderer, and/or run "nextpvr.exe -noanim" (which turns off the use of Direct3D for drawing the screens).
