Client PC's can't do live tv

Neither of my client pc's can stream live tv. They always fail with the message:" The tuner you were using was required for a recording...".
I have 4 tuners and none are recording when I get this message.
Attached are the logs for the client and the server computers.

I think the error occurs is this snippet from NRecord.log on the server...

Yes.

Kodi does live tv from one of the clients as well using the NextPVR backend. It can play for hours (watched the football playoffs while programming) but locks up if you change channels.

It looks like there is an unexpected log delay when trying to build the playback graph on the client, and by then lease on the device has expired (and the server frees up the tuner).

Are you specifying the server by name or ip address?

By IP Address.
Servername 192.168.0.164, Database Share: \\192.168.0.164\users\public\npvr

if I use a share names I get the "cant connect to the server' error every time I launch the client. It goes away quickly but the IP method makes it not show up at all.

There is a loooooonnnng wait before the error message comes up. About 30 seconds. Hardwired gigabit network. Fully updated Win10 Home

Turning off windows firewall for public and private networks makes no difference.

I am testing the NextPVR client on a virgin machine. I has only had NextPVR and Hoborg's SAF decoders installed. It's a Lenovo compute stick 300 plugged into the back of the monitor.
My main computer does not have NextPVR installed anymore (deleted in frustration over this issue) but does have Kodi installed. Kodi will livestream from the NextPVR server.

Are you using wifi? My wifi experience with the NextPVR client was awful so I had to switch to Kodi.

Can you try creating a c:\temp\ directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\LogClientStream=1 (DWORD), then reproduce the problem and post the logs again, along with the extra c:\temp\stream.log file?

That compute stick is WiFi only, no Ethernet port. Also, the WiFi is 802.11a/b/g/n . And since this thing plugs into an HMDI port, most if not all of the device is behind the TV. Not good for WiFi reception.

Since you are using a SD HDHomeRun device, have you tried running the HDHomeRun View App on the IdeaCentre Stick? Before running the View App, be sure to install the HDHomeRun software on your client.

Just trying to eliminate wifi connection problems as the source of the problem.

You could also try the NextPVR web client in a browser on the 300.
