A lot of information I have surfed down regarding use of an R5000-HD with NPVR seems pretty dated, which is expected as the device is no longer made.... However I wonder if someone could point me to instructions for setup of the device which should still be appropriate? Here's where I am so far:
R5000 is setup on a Windows 7 PC and fully working, both manually (via its own software interface) and as controlled using SageTV.
SageTV service disabled, so it's no longer running.
Installed NPVR.
Downloaded NetworkRecorder.dll and placed in \Users\Public\NPVR\NetworkRecorder directory.
Downloaded NetworkRecorder.xml but wasn't sure where it's meant to be located - tried several NPVR locations (\Users\.etc and \Program Files (x86)). Verified its looking at 127.0.0.1 port 6969
NPVR Service starts/stops fine with no errors. But no network recorder shows up in the Devices...
Am I required to run the NextCom basic Windows driver or can I not use the one tailored for SageTV (I thought this was just the basic with addition of SageTV page, which can be disabled)?
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,
RLW
