Graham Wrote:If I start playing an in-progress recording ... skips after the point at which I started viewing fail. For example, a recording is scheduled to record for 60 minutes. I start playing when the recording has been in progress for 30 minutes. The playback happily plays to 40 minutes but if I then skip, the recording goes back to 30 minutes (ish) and repeated pressing of the skip button just brings me to the same point in the recording. Stop and Resume fixes it and skips work as expected.

I am giving this its own thread 'cos it's still with me after updating to the 31-7 version and it seems to be distinct from other skip issues.

The attached shows a recording starting at 16.07 ... Playback begins at 16.11 ... The recording was about 4 minutes in duration when playback started ... First skip was okay ... Second and third skips went to the exact same place in the recording and this appeared to be the point that the recording was at when the playback began.

I get the same symptoms with recording on all six (ish) of the channels that I tried, including SD (mpeg2) and HD (H264), and with MS decoders shown in log and also with LAV decoders.

The patch fixed it for me ... I can now skip in-progress recordings without any issues. Thanks.

I reinstalled 4.0.4 in order to try out this patch, and the issue is fixed for me too. However, I'm seeing the audio drift out of sync with the video over time (a backward skip gets it back to normal). I switched to the legacy TS reader for now in the settings, as that seems to avoid the issue (at least in my limited testing so far).

I'm running latest build 4.0.4.170820 and am having similiar issue. Actually, for last couple of builds.
When I use either Ctrl+arrow or the mouse, the first couple of skips will go fine and then it will skip 5 or more minutes forward and audio out of sync. Reproduced it a bunch and it is not consistent on which skip will do it... 2, 3 4... but it always does it.
I saw a patch zip listed above. Should I try this on my build or is this a different fix?

Admin,
Sorry... I must have missed something. Where is the patch for skip? Don't see it posted?
Thanks

There have been a lot of patches since the 0820 rollup. Try NextPVR.zip here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post516965 followed by the linked NextPVR.exe in the same thread and also this https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post517239

For me I went back to 3.9.2 for now awaiting further playback improvements. Even with all the various patches and switching to the legacy TS Reader, playback likes to glitch more than before. For instance, sometimes a show's playback halts after a commercial skip, requiring a stop and resume to get it going again. I'm hopeful things will get ironed out before long, but since I don't have an extra HTPC to use for testing, it's best for me to be on the more stable release.
