If you find make a short sample recording that doesn't play, does that specific recording fail to play every time? If so, we'll focus on getting extra logging on what is happening during those playback attempts

I re-installed LAV and set all decoders to LAV and I got picture but no sound. I recorded another program snippet and get no sound in NPVR when I play it back but I do get sound in WMP. So I switch the audio decoder to MPEG-1 audio and I get sound back! Weird or what?

Can you see if this updated NPVRTSReader.ax file helps? Replace the existing file of the same name.

Tried Live TV again this morning and it worked first time - but then tried again a couple of times and got black screen and no sound. Still with LAV decoders except for audio as mentioned above. New log files attached. Thanks. Stanno

Still with LAV decoders except for audio as mentioned above. LAV audio and video decoders work fine with UK DVB-T broadcasts (TV via an aerial) ... many of us use LAV. At NextPVR Settings --> Decoders ... is Audio Renderer set to Default? ndigitalhost is the NextPVR process that connects to the tuner and receives the broadcast stream. Your ndigitalhost-22.log has ... Quote:2017-11-29 10:48:52.972 [DEBUG][5] locked=0, present=0, strength=42, quality=67 (took 16ms to check) It might be that your reception is borderline and there are glitches in the stream received by NextPVR that the software is struggling with. Can you test by using the shortest possible coax and removing any splitters temporarily? Getting the "quality=" value closer to 100 would be a good thing. It is our understanding that the components in computer tuners are less sensitive than a real TV and require a better signal.

Hi Graham, thanks for your thoughts.
However, as per my earlier posts, the problems are only in NPVR. I often get a black screen when I try and play a recording as well. But in Kodi live TV always works and recordings always play without a problem. I previously used WMC until it broke with the latest Win10 update and that was always fine on recordings and live TV.
