hello.
Can you tell me if the current version of next PVR will still work on windows XP?
I am upgrading from 3.9.2 (161119).
speaking of upgrading, I get this strange error when I try to do so.
if I click on Install NextPVR v4.0.5 (171208), I get an error:
System.EntryPointNotFoundException: Unable to find an entry point named 'SHGetKnownFolderPath' in DLL 'Shell32.dll'.

Are you clicking the 'Install' button on the Setting->About screen?

In general I've been trying to maintain compatibility with XP, but I haven't tested on XP myself in several years. It looks like I might have let that incompatibility sneak in. You should be able to get around it by not clicking that button, and instead just running in the installer by downloading from the website instead.

Hi there.
Thanks for the prompt reply!
just out of interest, what's actually meant to happen when you click that button from the settings/about screen? is it meant to automatically download and install the program, or has it downloaded the file in a background process and it's sitting in a folder waiting to be executed?
btw: I'm doing an image of my drive before upgrading so I won't lose any settings or mess up windows. I'll let you know what happens.

It downloads the normal installer from the website, to your Downloads directory. When the download completes, it runs the installer then exits nextpvr.exe.
