The Keyword Record facility is very useful for scheduling recordings which don't yet appear in the EPG. However it has one annoying quirk: it schedules recordings that match the desired keyword anywhere. It would be useful if there were two separate fields - one to say "only look for the keyword in the programme or episode title" and another to say "also look in the plot summary and other metadata". This would save a lot of false-alarm recordings - for example if you want to record all forthcoming "Carry On" films, you probably don't also want to record totally unrelated programmes that happen to include the phrase "carry on" in the plot summary ;-)

Currently you can do this with the searchlite plugin.

1. Select the type of search Tiltle (or Start for starts with with rather then include) or Detail (Description and subtitle)
2. If you like the results hit Save in NEWA
3. Hit recall to load NEWA saved recordings
4. Select your NEWA recording and save as "Add Rule"

Hi,

I want to do the same thing : add keyword shedules only if keyword is found in title (not in description).

I use Kodi to create my keyword shedules and i have a lot of false shedules caused by keyuwords found in programs descriptions.

I installed searchlite plugin but if i'm right, i can't use it from Kodi add-on ?

Anyway, i tried from NextPVR but as soon i move to the serachlite line, i have an error windows :

Is there others ways to use keyword search only in the program title, using Kodi to creat shedules ?

Thanks

I don't know anything much about SearchLite. Martin might be able to answer that. The NextPVR Kodi addon doesn't use SearchLite though.

The NextPVR keyword recording feature looks for the keyword in any of title/subtitle/description. There is currently no easily way to change this from Kodi. Within NextPVR itself you can do an a manual recording with advanced rule like:

title like '%something%'

This will record any shows that 'something' anywhere in the title.

(title like '%something%' or subtitle like '%something%')

etc...Unfortunately there is no way to do these advanced rules in Kodi.

I could look into a config setting in NextPVR v5, to limit keyword recordings to only title/subtitle. This would apply to Kodi recordings too.

Ok.

It will be very useful, thanks Smile

I hesitate to install v5 as you fix it and plan to add functions to it only; do you think i should wait ?

I never to around to updating the wiki with a new version of SearchLite https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post526462 that might help.

Also you can access the NextPVR UI and SearchLite in the knewc addon for NextPVR via the UI client but you might need to type everything en majuscule

It works (SearchLite), thanks for the link.

But i prefer to use Kodi (with the standard add-on) to create my rules so i think i will wait v5 if Sub add an option to limit keyword recordings to only title/subtitle Smile

Ok, i tried the "manual recording" but what should i choose as "recording type" ?
With "keyword recording" i choose "Any days" but this option isn't listed.

And what about "date", "start time" and "end time" fields. Will these fields be ignored if i use the advance rules field for record when keyword is found in title ?

Anyway, i tried with record "daily" on "any channels". Then, i retreive the reccuring recording in Kodi but it has a channel specified, not "any channel", and it isn't avalaible in edition Sad

If Kodi doesn't understand the rule then the display values in Kodi will be undefined. It will not affect how NextPVR process the rule.

I believe the date and time rules on manual recording is the date the rule is effective.

Ok, thanks for the precision.

So if i want recording at any days and any time for a given keyword; what should i put on 1, 2, 3 ? :

Thanks

Sub actually made the API change in v5 for me for Emby https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post535233 so I am not sure if making the option available in Kodi is a better choice.
