Accessing Groups freezes NPVR in new version

When I press the Groups button in Settings>Channels, the software becomes non-responsive and doesn't open the window.

I got it to open (slowly) before I added the patch for the EPG.

I checked here and it's opening nice and quick.

If you restart the app and try again, does it work quicker next time? If not, PM me a link where I can download your npvr.db3 file (like onedrive or dropbox), and I'll try your channels and groups here.

No change. Can't see the file in the NPVR folder.

Thanks - got your test file.

Your database was taking a long time to load here too. If I leave it, and come back, the screen will eventually load. I'll check why it's taking so long. Probably needs some optimization for such a large number of channels or groups. FYI, I checked it on 4.0 too, and it seemed to take just as long.

With the old version, groups would load with the same amount of channels in around 30/45 seconds.

I finally got Groups to open, did take just under 10 minutes though.

Both of current and old build seem to take a couple of minutes on my machine.

I've attached an updated NextPVR.exe though, which optimizes the Settings->Channel and Channel Groups screen to cope better with the 16,000 channels in your database. This is by far the most number of channels I've ever seen in a database, and we'd never needed to deal with big delays on these screens before. With this update those screens should be much quicker now. Let me know if it helps there.

Sorry for being dumb here, do I need to uninstall and add or put in an existing folder?

Ignore, copied and replaced into the Program Files NPVR folder.

Just drop it in C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR, replacing the existing file of the same name.

That worked. Groups screen showed in around 60 seconds.

Deleting channel groups and pressing ok took around 25 seconds, a big improvement.
