Over last several weeks I have been experiencing a lot of failed recordings because supposedly the recording service is not running at the time of recording. A couple of nights ago I upgraded to 4.1.0 hoping it would resolve the issue but it hasn't. I just had to delete several days worth of recordings for this issue.

This PC is mostly a single purpose PC in other words it is sole purpose is to be a PVR. However as it is more powerful then my regular desktop I do have a few games installed on it but have not played any in about a month or two.. I have also been copying all of my DVD's over tow it. But I do not see either one of these having anything to do with the issue at hand.

What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

Thank You
Kevin

Log files are attached.

A program was successfully recorded at 14:00 EST but I had just rebooted the pc this morning. I also rebooted it just before I zipped the logs and happened to notice that the nextpvr icon was not in the notification area. As of right now it is.

Thank You
Kevin

This isn't a great way to check the recording service is running. ie, it's a separate app called NTray.exe, unrelated to the recording service. It doesn't have to be running. Also, Windows likes hiding tray icons, so you might have to click the little arrow to show tray icons.

I can't see any sign of errors in your recording service log. Any messages in the Windows Event Viewer indicating it died? or if you create a c:\temp directory, do you get a c:\temp\crash.mdmp file when this happens?

I notice you do a lot of long recordings overlapping the EPG update at 2Am This is not recommended.

I do have a C:\Temp folder but it is empty. As of now the service is running as it is currently recording a show. If and when the issue arise again I will post the logs and the crash.mdmp file if it is present.

Why is it not a good idea if my card, PC and the software can handle it?

Actually NextPVR is not designed for the 7/24 recordings that you are doing so the EPG update logic is designed to be run in off hours. If you have special requirements perhaps you need to PM sub.

tesla1886, remember NextPVR is strictly for home personal use. It can't be used for other purposes without contacting up for a license. Your recording schedule appears to be outside of that allowed use.

I am only using for home use. There are just a lot of programs on the I like to watch and want to record. Every thing I record I use for nothing else other than my personal entertainment.

Everything I watch I record. That way I can watch it when I want and I can skip the commercials.
