Hi Martin.
Having now played around with this for some time I've discovered that some recordings would play and others wouldn't.
Examining the file info for the recordings I can't for the life of me see any difference in the video or audio parameters. All the files are good (i.e. no poor signal or reception problems).
All the recordings play fine in NPVR it's just the web interface that's been giving me a headache.
Based on your suggestion I ran one of the misbehaving files through just a "Quick stream fix" in VideoReDo (no edits or format changes) and guess what..... the file now plays in the web interface!
I think there must be some sort of "blip" in these files that NPVR and other players handle ok but the transcode has a problem with.
Given there's no pattern to the problem, I'm going to have to come up with a way to perform a "Quick Stream Fix" remotely.
Have to say I hadn't considered the possibility of a file problem given they played ok directly in NPVR, Media Player, VLC etc.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sub.
Thanks. Given that it seems to be a regular issue with my HD recordings I'll set something up to get you a sample. They're usually about 3Gb so will need to look at dropbox or similar.
I'll come back to you.

Seriously. Emby is so much better at this maybe you can take a look at how they are doing this?? You can FF and pause, unlike NextPVR. Can you check it out??

Thanks for your suggestion however my needs are simple and whilst I'm sure Emby is great software, it's overkill for what I need.
Don't really want to clutter up my NPVR server with stuff unless it's absolutely necessary.
