G'day… I have installed the NPVR plugin 3.2.7.0 in Emby and when I click on the plugin to set it up, my only options are to enter a NPVR base URL and a NPVR pin. I cannot find the location on where to have NPVR scan for my Quad Tuner by Hauppauge. Do I also need to install the NPVR 4.2.x or do I jut use the plugin? Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Yes, you'd need to have NextPVR installed, and your tuners scanned etc before those channels would be accessible in Emby.

You need to installand configure NextPVR (tuners and EPG) first.

Thank you both. I thought I would ask here first b4 proceeding because on the Emby forum someone had a similar question and the answer was to have one or the other (plugin vs standalone) but not both. At first I thought that was odd since I knew we had to have a backend and frontend in order to make it work. So thanks for clearing this up. Cheers!

There are two ways to connect to NextPVR so it is confusing. Emby also does have built in support for some tuners without using NextPVR

G'day again and sorry for the delayed response. NPVR has sure come along way from the very first time I was using it with Kodi. First and foremost thanks to all the developers. While setting up NPVR I noticed that an option under devices is no longer available. From what I can remember it allowed the user to copy the setup list from one device to another. With the 4 tuner Hauppauge this would have been a nice feature but definitely not necessary. If it is still there I missed it and no big deal. I just configured each of the tuners. Mapping doesn't seem to have changed much and since I use SD, it made it a snap. The big surprise was the auto download of channel logos. What a feature! This made everything set up so easily. I definitely recall that setting up NPVR with Kodi was a challenge including the use of NEWA but I don't need them for now.

Although my goal is to integrate NPVR within Emby I am going to stick with this set up for a few days just to get the hang of it. The only reason I want to integrate is to be able to use my IPTV subscription from my provider. I have both the XMLTV and m3u URL's from them and I am not sure that this is possible with just NPVR. I looked around a bit online and in the community but could not find a definitive answer. Also, with my Emby service, I have thousands of movies that were left to me by my dad and Emby has no issues with accessing them to play. Some are in TS format while others are in MP3. Music videos are in MP4 I believe (or something like that). Anyway, thanks again for a great job you all are doing and thanks to Martin and Sub for your earlier assistance in pointing me in the right direction. Cheers!

Nothing has changed on that front.

You're supposed to setup one tuner. When you try to setup the second tuner (and it has no channels yet), NextPVR will say something like "you already have a tuner of this type, would you like to copy the channel configuration from that channel?". You should say yes to this. ie, setup one tuner, and just copy the configuration to the other tuners. You shouldn't manually scan each tuner, since it'll end up with four copies of each channel, and they're each treated as separate channels, rather than one channel available for four tuners.

When you go to the Settings->Devices screen, and double click the IPTV device, then click 'Import', it has URLs for both m3u and xmltv.

Okay that was it. My other remaining tuners already had a few channels in each so that is why that option didn't pop up. But like I said no big deal and thanks for the response. Cheers!

Wow crazy! Is this something new? I don't recall seeing that back in early 2017 or late 2016? In any case, I'm going to give that a go. Cheers!

Also, in the TV Guide view my channels are not in order (see pic). I reviewed the wiki again and found a section that described how to change the order that would effect the TV Guide view. It appears that that doesn't work however. If I just right click on the TV Guide and go to channels, they are in perfect order. Any suggestions?
