Another Closed Captions problem

I'm having a problem with closed captions.
If I play the file in VLC or WIN10 Movies & TV, the captions appear.
If I try it in NEXTPVR I don't see them.
It's from an IPTV stream that I recorded.

I put a chunk of the file in DropBox.

Do the closed captions on that specific file work for you in VLC? I just see a few broken bits of random looking text when I try enabling closed captions in VLC.

I just did a download of the chunk from the link I put in the thread.
It works the same as it did with the original file; i.e. subtitles with VLC or Movies & TV.
(I had to choose subtitle track #1 in both apps.)

I don't know why you're not seeing that?

Maybe someone else could give it a try.

here is another example of the problem; just got this one this morning.

after I uploaded it to DropBox, I downloaded it again to my PC, to duplicate what you would do.
It acts the same way as the other sample; no captions in NPVR, but it works in VLC and Movies & TV.
(have to wait a few seconds in VLC after selecting caption #1)
fyi: both samples are from the National Geographic channel.

I don't use NPVR to watch videos but I did try your stream could watch it but no cc. Tried another show that i just recorded cc comes thru. Extracted cc from your stream and it works with your video (srt file). Not that any of this helps but thought I'd give you my results. Good Luck.

jrockow, where did these files come from? ATSC / QAM / CableCard?
