I'm guessing probably not.

I would be interested in using & testing v5, but there are a small number of plugins that I have used for years, that have not been updated for a long time - I guess people have moved on.

Movies - is a thing of beauty and keeps control of over 350 Blurays on my server in various genres. vic hasn't been around on the forum for a long time.

AutoRefresh - uses MediaInfo (a very old dll, newer ones don't work) to set the video output to a suitable matching refresh rate, to stop juddery video.
System - provides a system overview of recordings, drives, active tuners, basic hardware monitoring, and power options. imilne still pops in to the forum but doesn't appear to be doing any development.

Web Radio - still mostly works - if I remember to not update VLC. maybe Martin will release a replacement for v5 sometime?

Also there is the "Custodian of the Remote" who should not be upset Big Grin
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

No plugins work. Sub will likely follow up on that point

For web radio I am changing my focus. I will be writing a v5 utility where web radio url's get written into a separate IPTV "tuner" allowing you to record and timeshift radio. Right now I just manually add them. The BBC has very HD m3u8 streams and these are tremendous as IPTV and they even have guide data. It is especially good in Kodi pvr because radio and TV are separate recordings and guide data but in NextPVR you can create a web radio channel group (which I expect my utility will do too). No need for vlc either since some streams can be transcoded by NextPVR's ffmpeg

Yeah sorry, no plugins at this. I am hoping to add support for them again, but it'll need to be after things settle down on the v5 front. These existing addons would have needed to be updated though, and I'm not sure the authors are still around to do that.

Thinking about this for a day or two and probably the best way forward for me will be down the Kodi NPVR route, seeing as I want the full home theater rather than a basic PVR (Don't seem to be enough people writing plugins for NPVR anymore Sad ). Probably Windows to start with then native Linux later when Windows 8.1 goes out of support (Gave up on Windows 10 after 3 weeks of crap sound - and only stereo over SPDIF) .

Is V5 X64 aware or agnostic - should I be using Kodi 64 bit? I am sure there will be more questions once I get things going.

No it doesn't matter which you use.

In case you're wondering, NextPVR on a 64bit machine will run as a 64bit process. If you're using IPTV, HDHR, SAT>IP, then everything is 64bit. If you're using a DVB/ATSC/HDPVR device, then it also uses the DeviceHostWindows.exe process, which is 32bit. (not that it matters, since it all runs nicely regardless of 32bit or 64bit Windows)

Did you mean NextPVRServer.exe? In task manager NextPVR is still 32 bit.

Yes, NextPVRServer.exe is 64bit. (actually CPU agnostic, and will run as 32bit on 32bit Windows)

Yes, DeviceHostWindows.exe (for DVB/ATSC/HDPVR tuners) and NextPVR.exe (Windows client) are 32 bit.

I'm planning on updating and continuing to support my ones where possible, with System and AutoRefresh being the two key ones for me too.

That's good to hear - tried to install Kodi 18.2 last night - crashes 4 seconds after opening, looks as though it could be a lot of work to get it going.

Are you using an official distribution of Kodi from kodi.tv? There are a lot "special" build out there and google and you tube searchs can lead you to the wrong ones. Also I prefer the standard install over the Windows store version.
