Hi. I was experimenting on my windows 10 PC with nextPVR.  Wanted to try using Intel quick sync as the video encoder for "transcoded streaming"... as on the "clients" tab in settings.

When I select this Intel quick sync option - a warning is displayed that this would only work when running the recording service from the command prompt.

As I am not a programmer but just sort of handy with a computer.. I thought I would ask what is the correct way to run the recording service from the command prompt? I use a standard user account to run nextpvr and watch tv.

Having said that is there some sort of advantage in running the recording service as a service that I would loose when running it from a command prompt?

Many thanks

Edward

If you want to run the server from the command line the syntax is

NRecord RUN

The functionality is the same from all my testing, but you are responsible for setting it up to run automatically.

Also consider v5 as it is more stable for transcoding and can use modified command lines for ffmpeg as well.

when you say run automatically you must mean to run automatically after reboot for example?
