This my first released of the Webcam plugin. It shows webcams from around the world on MVP. The plugin comes preloaded with a short number of webcams. You can directly edit webcams.xml in the plugin directory to add more webcams.

A small update...

How can I point to my own webcam on my PC. Is there a URL to access it?

Looks like you can add them to the webcams.xml file, if you have a URL for it.

These are still images right? I would love to get this working with video. I want to be able to do video conferencing in front of my tv.

I like it! Works good, easy to skin.
Now I can see traffic before I have to drive through it, much easier than opening a browser page.
Any possibility of having it update the picture automatically (autorefresh)?
You can never have enough tuners!

The plugin is updating the picture the from webcam every 2 minutes. It's done this way, to keep the load on webcam-server as low as possible.

Thast right- just edit the webcams.xml in the plugin dierctory. Name item is the title and url item is the picture in the GB-PVR.

Very Nice! That is one of the things I was missing. I was able to do that with the MVP with the Media.html mod. Now if it could display animated gifs...

The MVP can play them, or hauppauge's software can, I had this on my MVP before I went to GBPVR.

It does show up with the webcam plugin, it just doesn't cycle.

Great plugin, thanks alot!

so I found this package thats starts the webcam server locally.

http://www.dnzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=224

I guess what I am trying to do is setup a personal web cam so I can see the user on my gbpvr when I talk to them. This is ftp server with usersname and password. The other thing we would need is an option to lower the refresh since it would only be 1 user at a time. Are you going to publish the source?

You can use WIndows XP powertoy- Timershot to publish a shot at your custom interval to an ftp site. Easy!

This is a GREAT plugin. My wife even loves it. We found webcams for some of our favorite places and voila! there they are on the ol' TV.

Thank you!
