Not sure if this is specific to linux so I'll put this here. if this isn't the right place feel free to move it.  On several occasions I've had live TV play with the alternate audio stream (Spanish) when starting a stream in Kodi.  It's only happened 4-5 times in the last couple months but it's happening none the less and I never had it do that in V4.

It just did it about 1:10 or so and I had just rebooted the server not long before that so the log attached should be fairly clean.  Best i can recollect this is when I started the stream but I'm not 100% positive.  As soon as I thought of it I saved the log which is attached.  The client was Kodi on an OMSC Vero4+ this time, but it's also happened on on a RPi3 running OSMC Kodi as well as on a web stream on a android phone so I don't think this is a problem on the client end.  Just really odd, and it doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason when it occurs.

Code:
2019-12-22 13:10:51.698    [DEBUG][31]    StartStream(7346:WVBT-HD)

.zip   nrecord.log.zip (Size: 261.01 KB / Downloads: 2)

It would actually be specific to Kodi (or the web app), the server just sends the raw stream and you need to configure the client which stream to play. For Kodi if you are playing a stream you can change the audio to the type you want and set as default.

Which would make sense if it happened every time, but it's sporadic, like only 4-5 times in several months, and never happened on V4 in 8 plus years.  Not to mention it's happened on 3 different clients to include the web interface which as far as I know has no setting for SAP.  The only variable that's changed is V5.

NextPVR just sends the entire channel stream to the client. This is usually made up of one video stream, one or more audio streams, and possibly some data streams (like teletext, dvb subtitles etc). It's up to the client playing the stream to determine what streams are available and to choose which ones to play.

It's likely just a coincidence, like the broadcaster has changed something about their broadcast

All the clients are set to a default of English so I'm at a loss on how to prevent it. Not to mention it still don't explain why the web stream, which is set to transcode to 480p-700kbps did it too.

Still the client. The web browser and Kodi are both dependent on the ffmpeg engine. You could try a recording and if you can duplicate the issue upload a sample to OneDrive or similar cloud storage.

For Kodi the player default is different from the UI default so make sure the default language is English and if it is already turn off the default audio stream option.

A sample recording that shows the problem will help. I can check what's happening in the web app.

This sounds very similar to the Kodi problem Martin solved for me recently! A few channels would sometimes play the audio from the NAR channel. The "English" stream seemed to vary by the day from 1/2 to 2/2 so unsure if one is the default, So as well as selecting English as the preferred audio I deselected "Prefer Default Audio Streams" and that cured my problem,

Since it happens so seldom the only way I can think of getting a sample recording is to wait until the next time and try and grab one of the live TV buffer files.  If/when it happens I'll try and grab one.

Martin - are you implying my android phone has ffmpeg on it and is responsible for NextPVR stream playback in the web UI?  I'm open to new ideas, can you explain?  Google failed me on that one.
