Hi
I ensured no services running, removed old NPVR app (which leaves some parameters standing), downloaded and installed NPVR V4, and proceeded to adjust settings. Devices were unchanged but new channels were added.
On maybe 5 or 6 occasions, a re-boot was forced. On the last occasion, I could no longer fire up NPVR.

H/W is Windows 10, cordless mouse and keyboard, TV as a monitor.

Any help gratefully received.

Stability issues with NextPVR would typically be with the drivers. Have you checked to see if your tuner card is working with the software that came with it? I see

2020-01-04 15:25:07.856 [DEBUG][5] No BDA capture filter for this device

Which to me looks like you need to reinstall the drivers.

The (dual) tuner worked fine with (a) my previous version of npvr and (b) the latest version (in between unwanted re-boots).

Nevertheless, I checked the drivers thru Windows Device Management -> Update Drivers. This reported that I have the latest drivers.

I re-installed npvr over the top - won't fire up.

I un-installed, re-installed - won't fire up.

During installation, I saw some part of a stack overflow message which disappeared before I could catch it. It seemed to occur after all the npvr sub-folder create and extract phase, but I'm not dead sure.

The Logs folder is empty.

Do you see nextpvr.exe in the task list? If so, have you changed your resolution or number of monitors recently?

If you're not seeing nextpvr.exe in the task list, maybe try deleting your c:\users\public\NPVR\config.xml and try restarting it.

Deleting config.xml did the trick. Thanks. I'll now watch for the unwanted re-boots.

Regards
Mike
