.zip   logs-20200105-1535.zip (Size: 427.81 KB / Downloads: 2) Going crazy trying to get Nextpvr working on live tv atsc. The :8866 web page comes up just fine and Ive got zap2xml.pl working fine with TVGuide but when I select a channel to view it says"Streaming Failes Transcoder exited". The nextpvr logs in ./nextpvr-data/logs are all empty as in 0 bytes. Im using a Hauppauge WinTV Dual HD usb tuner and Sapphire Nitro+ 570 video card in a mini itx uefi system. Any suggestions on where to look, how to get logging working, any pointers at all would be greatly appreciated.

Ive been using the same set up under Win 7 Pro since MS broke the epg for WMC and I really 'like' NextPVR, especially after spending hours setting it up, it works quite well and in combination with Kodi it is a serviceable replacement for WMC. Im done with windoze.

Did you try using the deb installer? If you used it logs are in a different location but the best way to get them are via the browser.

Thanks Martin, Ive tried the DEB way, works best for me, and the manual way with a bunch of dotnet trash, no joy at all with the manual way. I do have Kaffeine running and watching live tv as we speak so I know my hardware CAN work.

Ok I see your logs now.

I'm thinking only one of your tuners is working, perhaps because adapter0 is locked by another app? If not I know with my tuner hvr 2250 only adapter0 works. You may need to exit Kaffeine or even reboot to free it.

adapter0 didn't start when requested. There could be an issue after reboot.

Could you reboot and then

sudo service nextpvr-server restart

and try again.

If that fails, try removing the configuration for adapter0 to see if adapter1 is working.

Ok, on boot the ps -auwx command shows the nextpvr starting very early, near the top of the list. Using Epiphany as the browser it seems to work but no video. It does record however and the recording is appropriate in size. But the ts file created does not play. It does show the correct recorded time and duration. Device status says "LocalRecorder (adapter0) -home/asdw/recordings/live...3864-1.ts." So from my point of view its operating but no video, missing codec maybe? Under recordings there is a still pic of the recording but it still wont play. Restarting the service made no difference. I load a known good *.ts file into VLC and it plays just fine. But loading the ts file created by nextpvr, and found in the shows folder, would not play.

There are 2 nextpvr folders I've found. Their contents are NOT the same. One is in /opt/nextpvr and the other is in /var/opt/nextpvr. The latter has no scripts in the script folder. The former has a *.txt file in its scripts folder. No error messages are being generated in the web app window which is an improvement. I feel we are real close, very frustrating. I'm going to redo the channel list to fix some channel mislabeling and try again. And thank you very much for helping. I've been told I can beat a pc into working correctly and I have no intention of stopping until its right. FYI, the Brave browser will block the stream. That message is the only error message I've seen in the nextpvr web app today and the reason why I've switched to using the Epiphany browser for testing. I'll sort out Brave later. One problem at a time.

One more thing, doing a manual restart of the service is necessary for it to find the devices after a boot.

That is why I asked you to try the restart.  NextPVR is starting before the card and networking is.availalable so you need to add a delay in PrestartUp.sh
