That sounds great. Any idea of delivery date?

It's still pretty early days for this new client. It'll likely be at least a couple of months away.

nlite for Window will pretty much use then same playback engine as the new client but if you hate Kodi UI client you'd hate nlite too

What I dislike about Kodi, Plex, et al. is that the Swiss army knife approach to be being everything to everybody is never up to the level of functionality provided by dedicated applications like foobar2000 for music or NextPVR for TV. There's always a compromise, plus the demands on system resources. I've had them installed but never used them enough to justify keeping them around. Plus, don't you have to pay for a Plex Pass to get OTA TV?

Kodi connects to NextPVR directly, no cost and it has both a PVR interface or the UI Client interface (via knewc) which looks just like NextPVR which you can configure to completely disable the Kodi UI. It runs on any OS including the RPi so it is not heavy. The playback engine is superior to NextPVR's in my experience. Don't install any special skin, disable all the library and scanning functions if you just use NextPVR I think that is all extra overhead.

As for bloat my VLC folder when I add Nlite support is 176MB vs 100 MB for Kodi. If you don't want bloat consider ffplay at 64k

OK thanks. I'll give Kodi a try soon.
