Thought I had this licked, and I do, but it's troublesome it's happening. I want to say since 912 (but it's the recordings in Scheduler in XRecord that it happens to), but it could be incidental.

Anyway, unless I have rectracker installed, all my scheduled recordings will duplicate when it is updated/processed. That causes the error when you go into the guide about the duplicate ID number.

I didn't always have this problem, because I didn't always have rectracker installed to clean it up. Now I need it to stop prevent it.

Any idea why this is happening? LIke I said, rectracker is taking care of it, but I want to fix it in case I stop using rectracker for some reason.

I guess the question is really why it would keep adding Scheduler recordings (making dupes) at update, and not the Pendings.

Ok, how about when does Scheduler run, and what file tells it to? Maybe there is a 2nd entry somewhere that was created during an update.

Capone, you can control whether the CDK Scheduler schedules duplicates or not. What does your PriorityRecordings.xml file look like.

As for when everything runs, typically the CDK Scheduler that XRecord uses for Advance recordings, is after the episode guide is updated, and is in the PostUpdateEPG.bat file.

In Xrecord you should be able to tell it whether to record duplicates for a show or not.

Quote:Wow! Capone, you're having problems, have you tried the default in GBPVR and skip XRecord. I do everything through TV Guide, Live TV Guide, Search Guide and then Recordings.

Heh...you'd think so, but I suppose it's because I've got it doing a combo of things, so I shake the rug at all corners. I have to say, for all the problems I find, at the moment, I think this is the only one I have (read: everything else is solved/fixed).

Anyway, I like how it displays (very family-use firendly), and the sub-controls. It also lets me schedule things that may not be on in the foreseeable future (my son loves Thomas, which was off local PBS for a while). It's got some refining left (nav, scheduling), but it's power is worth the patience for me.

I have one extra...is that it?

comskip %1
RenameRecording.exe %1
rectracker %1 > rectracker.log
rectracker -add %1

When I say dupes, I don't mean I'm getting the episode of 24 again. I mean it schedules everything to pending, and later, adds the whole list again: same time and day (creating uinique ID confilicts). It's running the whole update pending 2x....is the extra retracker in my bat causing this?

Here's the top part of my pr.xml...I see the dupes allowed, but whould this keep sxcheduling the exact same episode?

- <Configuration>
<MissingRecordingPriority>0</MissingRecordingPriority>
<Conflicts>Delete</Conflicts>
<DuplicatesAllowed>Yes</DuplicatesAllowed>
</Configuration>
- <Recording priority="1">
<Channel>43</Channel>
<ProgramName>Blue's Clues</ProgramName>
<Quality>Medium</Quality>
<CaptureSource>1</CaptureSource>
- <Duplicates>
<Recorded>No</Recorded>
<Scheduled>No</Scheduled>
</Duplicates>
- <ScheduleTime>
<Start time="09:30" />
<End time="10:00" />
</ScheduleTime>
- <Padding>
<PrePadding>1</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>0</PostPadding>
</Padding>
</Recording>

Where are you getting your stuff online? I get things like Lost from newsgroups sometimes, because I like the quality.

Don't know if it is related, but a lot of shows are coming up Failed. But, only 1-2 in 6-8 really are.

I think I have an idea of what is going on, and it has to do with I belive (Jorm and Jrock correct me if I'm wrong) on how Xrecord schedules items. If you use basic, it uses the GBPVR built int scheduler. If you use the Advanced then it uses the CDK Scheduler.

Personally, I would use either Basic or Advanced, but not both at the same time. Reason is because you can get some odd things happening if you aren't careful. I personally would recommend scheduling everything through advance, and that way you have CDK Scheduler controling everything. I think, if you take a look at the built in Recordings menu task, you'll see some of your episodes there in the Season record section, and you are probably missing a couple that show up in XRecord Schedule section.

I think you are having dueling scheduler conflicts, which is why you are seeing some duplicates. A suggestion is to wipe out all your scheduled programs, and start over, using the Advanced schedule option only.

Jorm and Jrock, am I off on this?

I took your advice and took out my Scheduler listings. For some reason, odd behavior happens even using the normal record function w/ The Shield, where it adds all days/slots (but not multiples at same time like before). It's the only one, so I chalk that up to something odd about how zap or FX lists it.

Anyway, no issues since, so far. I also rolled back to 0911, since all the failed reocrdings (again, many weren't failed) started the same day as the upgrade. I'm going to see what that combo does.

The thing that makes little sense is two schedulers were set as is before 0912 and didn't do this. I don't think 0912 is busted, but maybe something it fixed just effected the exact way I use it differently.

Going to let this ride for a few days and see. I have all my Adult Swim recordings this weekend.

Quick quetion: Are these both rectracker, or are they separate:

rectracker %1 > rectracker.log
rectracker -add %1

I ask because the former comes w/ CDK. Assuming the log name may just share the name of the plugin.
