Kodi not playing channel on first attempt

Hiya.
I am running Kodi 18.6 and NextPVR 5.0.3.200415 on the same machine.
I am using a HDHomeRun Connect Quattro with firmware 20200225

When in TV Guide within Kodi... when I select a channel and then choose switch.. I get a timer along the bottom which shows how far the current program is in to the program. But it doesn't open the channel.
Whilst checking NextPVR device status, it shows nothing in use and the same on the HDHomerun web interface.
It can take 3-5 times (or more) of selecting the channel and selecting switch before it finally opens.
when it does, it then shows 3 items



And then once I refresh it just shows one active



However it only shows one tuner active in HDHomeRun



I've enclosed the logs, but password protected it. I'll PM sub with the password

If you check from 00:21:25.566 - that is where it first mentions BBC News, which is the channel I was trying to select.

Any ideas why it take a few attempts to open any of the channels?

You'd be better off not password protecting your logs file - this way others can take a look. Particularly when it comes to Kodi, since that is mainly supported by Martin.

I have also sent Martin a message with the password (in case he was happy to have a look).. Where I also have IPTV streams, I didn't know if any sensitive data would be included in there, so wanted to password it, just to be on the safe side

There is a fix in the next release, for the one place I know IPTV m3u url can appear in the log files. After that release, you wont need to password protect log files (which is a pain in the ass for both of us)

In the kodi addon settings, is it set to use timeshift or realtime?

Live TV is set to Real Time
Live Chunk Size = 64
Recording Chunk Size = 32
Pre-Buffer time is 1 second
Download TV Guide Artwork is selected.

Typically I don't like password protected files in this case an exception is good. For Kodi problems I would need Kodi debug logs but this looks a backend issue on thread 62 taking to long to open the file so Kodi would timeout

Maybe see if timeshift behaves differently.

So should I stop the current TV channel... enable debug logs, and try loading a channel again until it works.. leave it a minute and then turn off debug logging?
