I am noticing that NextPVR v5 takes an extremely long time to launch on system start, over 90 seconds to go green in the system tray. This upsets my Kodi that also launches on system start because it cannot connect to the NextPVR backend so I have to wait until it's available and then restart Kodi. A complete fail for what's supposed to be a solid DVR/media center appliance.
Intel NUC10i7FNH with Windows 10 Pro and HDHomerun Prime as my cable tuner. This is a new computer for my HTPC itch. I installed NextPVR v5 fresh on the new system. It had little trouble finding the HDHomerun and setting up the channels and EPG. I also have the "keep digital tuners primed" checkbox enabled. I checked firewall settings, all is fine there; once the tray goes green then I can connect with the NextPVR client or the Kodi app and view live TV. Just not before.
My workhorse HTPC of over 3 years (Intel NUC5i5RYH) has NextPVR 4 and no issues starting up quickly with the system. I am tempted to remove NextPVR v5 and install v4 if I can't figure out why v5 is taking so long to go green.
Any ideas?
