Guess i am just in a posting mood today. Smile

I was wondering what people refer to their gbpvr boxes as? As in; Do you say "oh ill just record that on the ....."
When i was using mythtv, i just called it myth or mythbox, When i was using Mediaportal, i called it the pvr or MP (em pee). Now that i have switched to GBPVR, i cant figure out how to refer to the thing. GBPVR doesnt exactly roll off of the tongue, and PVR is sorta ... blah. I tried calling it "The HTPC" But that isnt much better, and annoyed my wife, who insists on calling it "the supercomputer" (which is much better than her previous moniker for it "that damn computer in the living room").
At this point i am thinking of giving it a regular name, like Stan or something.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else out there is odd enough to think about stuff like this.

I call mine lots of things, usually stuff that children shouldn't hear Wink
Currently, it's "Sue". Had to be female, being so temperamental.

The "cute" name is jester, but I call it pvr, too. Nothing has stuck yet, though.

Mine is the good old: HTPC

Of course I have different shared folders off it:

HTPC Movie Library - contains some of my DVD collection converted to Xvid/AVI with AC3 audio.

TIVO - Shows that GBPVR has recorded. The wife knows what a TIVO is so that is why that share is named TIVO.

Im suprised at the number of answers so far! I have been thinking about it all day (instead of working Smile ) and think perhaps "Pablo the PVR" would work. Or, being the simpsons geek i am, Homer (as in Home Recorder). Its funny how i had no problem putting the stupid thing together, but naming it is a pita.
Im predicting trouble when the wife gets pregnant. .... Maybe ill name my child "Mr. Data" HA!

My MVP is simply called "The gadget".

The media server is tucked away in the basement -- locked in the workshop -- where it is safe from 3 year olds.
