it looks like that the device scan can only find the frontend0

Code:
root@media:~# /opt/nextpvr/system/DeviceHost/x64/DeviceHostLinux -discover
<devices>
  <device>
    <name>adapter0 (Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T))</name>
    <type>DVB-T</type>
    <filter>adapter0</filter>
    <instance>1</instance>
    <resource>adapter0</resource>
  </device>
  <device>
    <name>adapter0 (Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T))</name>
    <type>DVB-C</type>
    <filter>adapter0</filter>
    <instance>1</instance>
    <resource>adapter0</resource>
  </device>
</devices>

but with dvbv5-scan yo can specify the fronentd to use

Code:
[    8.691315] usb 2-3: dvb_usb_v2: found a 'Astrometa DVB-T2' in warm state
[    8.856085] dvbdev: DVB: registering new adapter (Astrometa DVB-T2)
[    9.053815] i2c i2c-6: cxd2841er_attach(): attaching CXD2837ER DVB-C/T/T2 frontend
[    9.053831] usb 2-3: DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T))...
[    9.053844] dvbdev: dvb_create_media_entity: media entity 'Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T)' registered.
[    9.053996] usb 2-3: DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 1 (Sony CXD2837ER DVB-T/T2/C demodulator)...
[    9.054000] dvbdev: dvb_create_media_entity: media entity 'Sony CXD2837ER DVB-T/T2/C demodulator' registered.
[    9.332608] rc rc0: Astrometa DVB-T2 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:13.2/usb2/2-3/rc/rc0
[    9.332922] input: Astrometa DVB-T2 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:13.2/usb2/2-3/rc/rc0/input6

Check

ls -lt /dev/dvb/adapter0

You might need to add nextpvr to the plugdev group

sudo usermod -a -G plugdev nextpvr

Code:
root@media:~# ls -lt /dev/dvb/adapter0
insgesamt 0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 212, 4 Aug 21 21:18 frontend1
crw-rw---- 1 root video 212, 3 Aug 21 21:18 frontend0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 212, 2 Aug 21 21:18 net0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 212, 1 Aug 21 21:18 dvr0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 212, 0 Aug 21 21:18 demux0

usermod -a -G video nextpvr

no differnce still only the frontend0 so only dvb-c dvb-t but not dvb-t2

The installer already adds nextpvr to video. Sub will need to comment on how inje detects the instances.

I can't remember if I've explicitly tested this. I'll have to see if any of my DVB sticks give 2 front ends.

Unfortunately none of my tuners use drivers that make multiple frontend.

Exactly what name/model is your device? I'll see if they're available here, and what price.

I've ordered one. It's likely it'll take a few weeks to get to me though. In the meantime, you might as well try Martin's suggestion above.
