Hello.

I was wondering if there are any users of EPG Collector on here, who capture SkyNZ OpenTV format epg data from DVB-S using EPG Collector?

Reason I ask, is that I have been using the above for years,  and earlier this week, I noticed that all EPG data for most SkyTV NZ channels now will not work in EPG Collector.

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this, and would it be to Sky changing something, thus locking out EPG Collector?.

I use a MySkyHDi STB via Hauppauge Colossus, and use the EPG to record from the STB.
Not having any guide data makes it rather difficult to record TV.

I had been using DVB-S card, and scanning transponder frequency '12519000 H' from Optus D1
All the channels show up on a scan in EPG Collector,  but when running, I get no listings for Sky channels, except the Freeview channels.

Does NextPVR have the ability to extrapolate Sky EPG from the above transponder, or is it Freeview only?

I know this is not a NextPVR support issue,  but given my configuration, it kinda is... sorta.
(grin)  I only just got NextPVR 5 IR blasting working, and it has been working really well,  and now this.

Have you tried posting something on the epgCollector forum on Sourceforge? Steve is pretty good at responding and also NZ based i believe.
I'd post a link but not sure if linking to another forum is bad form...

No,  I have not posted on their forums as yet, tho I did have a look, and latest posting was from 2018.
(if I was looking at the correct one)

I am backing up my current configuration,  and will try restoring an older working image of my PC, and try EPG Collector and see if I get different results.
It's just kind of weird, as it has been bullet proof for ages, so only posted here as I thought the guru's here would instantly know if Sky have changed something.

Hopefully, it is just something at my end.

Thanks for that link.

Update:
I reloaded a drive image of my PC from a working version of NextPVR 4.x,  that I created earlier in the year.
I ran EPG Collector, which is the same version I was using, as had it installed on a different partition.

It ran thru without error, and has captured most sky data, and a great deal of the Sky channels are at least present now.
(I think me messing around with EPG collector has stuffed a few things tho)

So, am even more confused now, as it seems EPG Collector is not the issue, but something or lack of something has broken my working NextPVR5 configuration, or
my Windows configuration.

Am eliminating things at least.   I was running MediaPortal before I discovered NextPVR's awesomeness, so recently uninstalled MediaPortal, and I think it has nuked things of importance to EPG Collector, such as some of the Dot Net Framework.   I tried installing Dot Net latest version, but it aborted saying it was already installed, tho perhaps it is somehow still smegged up.

I at least have a starting point again now, and EPG Collector is grabbing Sky EPG data, so my fears in that regard were unfounded.

But, what on earth have I done to my current Windows image?

I am blaming MediaPortal uninstaller!!!  (grin)

Maybe something in the stream has changed the channel ids used in the xmltv file it’s generating. You might need to remap the channels to fix the ids.

Yes,  could be something like the ID's.
What I noticed tho, is that in the NextPVR5 settings for epg,  that when you go to associate an epg source to a channel, all the Sky channels had disappeared, and only the Freeview sky channels remained.

EPG Collector shows ALL the Sky and Freeview channels in a channel scan, but when grabbing, receives zero data for Sky.
I think something got borked to do with Net Framework.

I now have Sky working fully on my original drive image with NextPVR4.
Now I will update it to NextPVR5,and see what happens.
