Version: 5.1.0.201216

I change this from 60s to any other value, like 59s. Save.

Leave that specific item, but remain on the Guide screen.

Check the setting again. It's still 59s.

Leave the Guide screen, return to the Guide screen, check the setting, it says 60s.

Try do any EPG scan/update, and it uses the 60s, no matter what it was set to in the option.

Is anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Was the EPG update already in progress when you tried changing it?

I've just tested it again now, making sure the EPG update wasn't active, and it's reverting to 60s.

This same issue is also present if you try alter the frequency selection tick boxes within the same screen. You can say have two frequencies that'll be scanned for EPG. Deselect one, save.
Now run a scan and both frequencies are scanned.

And this is on a fresh install. I've just scanned in two frequencies for easier testing (otherwise it'll run for an hour or more)

So I assume when the EPG scan is running that the -c:\devxxxxxx\null.ts is basically being dumped and snooped to grab EPG data from... checked from About - Device Status

Is the quickest way to stop a running scan to stop and start the NextPVR service (task manager services in Windows)?

It'd be really handy if there was a stop button.

Obviously if you know your scan settings are working ok then it's not a problem. But when you're trying to get things working then this is a bit of a faff.

Thanks

Ah, right - I remember what is happening. As soon as you mentioned frequency tick boxes it all came back to me. This was a screen I was working on a few months ago, and hadn't intended to leave included in the build. It's not hooked up to save data at this stage. I'll finish it off for the next build.

Thanks for the reply.

No rush. As noted when it's working these settings aren't necessary any way.

I've fixed the 'Seconds per freq:' setting for the next build. (still looking at the frequency tickboxes)

Cool, that will probably help with the Freesat frequency scan which just seems to miss a few bits and pieces occasionally using the 60s scan time.

I might try find the variable (xml?) and modify it to test different scan times.

Try <EPGScanSeconds> in config.xml.

I noticed that the GUI doesn't respect the value set in the config.xml. Hopefully this was fixed per Sub's work mentioned above.
