PC not going to sleep after recording

Hi,

My PC is set to go to sleep after 15 minutes. This has always worked fine.

But recently when it wakes up to do a recording it doesn't go to sleep afterwards. I've no idea why?

I'm currently running version 4.2.5 on Windows 8.1 64 bit Pro.

I don't know if this is a Windows bug or an issue with NextPVR.

Looking at powercfg it only shows NextPVR as waking the system.

I'm not sure if this happened after updating to 4.2.5. I haven't dared to upgrade to version 5 as this is my only PVR at the moment.

Any suggestions?

It's nearly certain that the failure to sleep has nothing to do with NextPVR ... Have you looked at powercfg /requests and /waketimers and /sleepstudy and /systemsleepdiagnostics ...

I have run powercfg as I said in the original post although /systemsleepdiagnostics is not an option on my machine. Is that new to Win10?

As I also said, NextPVR is the only thing shown as waking the PC. Everything else is normal. The only things that have changed recently are the latest Win updates and the NextPVR update.

NextPVR logs might show something if you attach to a post ... What happens if you stop the NextPVR Recording Service?

I'm now pretty certain that it is NextPVR that is causing my PC sleep problems. I've been monitoring powercfg and it shows the power plan as being "balanced". When NextPVR starts to record it suddenly goes into "high performance" and does not return to balanced. I've no idea why. This did not happen until I installed 4.2.5.

Quick hack, use the Postprocessing.bat to reset your powercfg settings after last recording or all
