Satellite DVB-S EPG total crap

Have a DVB-S card.
Channels work fine but I have no EPG data.

Are you trying to use Freesat? If so, on the Settings->Channels page, you might need to use the AdvancedTools->Automap feature to map your channels to Freesat EPG instead of DVB EPG, then hit the 'update epg' button on the Settings->About page.

You will find that you get much better results on this forum by :

1. Not being hostile and rude
   
2. Providing some detailed information on what the problem is (attached logs are especially helpful).
   

Realize, this whole project is run by 1 guy and several others providing extra's and technical assistance.  No one is getting paid and everyone is helping (in their spare time) because they support the project and are trying to make it better.

Sorry about that. It is frustration.
See, what's happening is that when I used the .ini for 0282 the channels were there + all the epg was there but. A lot of the channels themselves were black screen because the incorrect transponders were in the file.
I rewrote a file from the satellite site here:

Using their transponder numbers. Every channel works now but.. I can get a bit of  epg now and next but that is all.

I'm thinking the problem is that the separate transponder for the epg is only transmitting data (no rad or tv) so it isn't added to the scan list because there is in theory no channel.

I'll have a fiddle around but having no luck. I think the scan list needs to be able to be added to manually.
Different people give different numbers though. so far I've seen these mentioned (sky or freesat).

Pity I can't put these in manually to scan them all. It sees no channels on them when added as a .ini file apart from one encrypted so doesn't add any channels in, or add to the epg scan list.

Still having no luck with freesat epg.
I see a heck of a lot of other people having issues with it too.
The more I read around the more I think this is the main cause:

That is the issue if you leave it on the default 'DVB EPG'. When you select Freesat as the EPG source, it adds that one extra frequency (11428,H,27500,23), and that should be the only one it scans when pulling in the EPG.

If you want to hit 'update epg' let it complete, then post your logs, I'll check what is happening.
