Hi,

I'm currently running version 5.0.9.201026.  It seems like version 5.1.1.210329 has a fix for a problem I was having with missing channel logos, so I'd like to upgrade.  I  note that the directions for upgrading are quite simple, but I want to verify that, when I do upgrade, my settings, recordings, and scheduled recordings will be preserved.

Will these items be preserved?

Sorry if this is a dumb question and thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, recordings (existing and your scheduled ones) and settings are preserved during an upgrade.

Hello,

I upgraded this morning and the result seems fine, although there were a couple "hitches" I encountered.

First, when I did as instructed to upgrade, I got the popup shown in the attachment from the installer.

In case the image doesn't show up, it is from the NextPVR Installer and says, "Failed to stop https://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip.  Install will not proceed

As I was composing this message, I noticed that the NextPVR service had been stopped, so I tried again and the installation proceeded successfully.  However the browser did not start.  I navigated to http://192.168.1.66:8866/login.html manually and was able to confirm that the new release was running.  Evidently you need to stop the NextPVR service before upgrading.  If you don't, the installer will stop it, but then evidently the installer does not restart itself.

The next step for me is to confirm that the channel icons are loading properly.  I'll report on that in this thread

Thanks for the assistance.
