M3U from french ISP (free.fr) problem

Hi @ll,

I'm trying to install NextPVR on my Synology with docker.
It works fine with my HDHomeRun 

But i can't import my Internet Service Provider (Free.fr) M3U into NextPVR

I also tried with a NextPVR installed on my W10 PC : Same problem : The Chanel list remains empty.

This M3U works fine with VLC or my old dvblink/tvmozaik so what's wrong here ? 
How can i import this M3U correctly ?

Thanks a lot Martin. So rtsp is not supported, too bad for me  ....And strange because Nextpvr relies on ffmpeg and ffmpeg is able to convert RSTP to http (i think).

What do you mean by "You could do it as a extra" ?

Maybe V5 supports rtsp in an m3u know now, certainly there is rtsp support for SAT>IP.

I showed a user how to make an extra for an rtsp camera here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60649 Basically start by getting a command line option you like that work with ffplay

I suggest trying -re -v panic -rtsp_transport tcp -i "rtsp://..." -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f mpegts -

Hi,

I'm trying NextPVR because I've got some problems with iptv (pluto tv) on Tvheadend server.
I've got LibreELEC on intel NUC. So under LINUX.
I was surprised by the easy way to configure NextPVR ... Tvheadend is more complicated !!
But Here in France, we have TV with provider name "Free" 
So in my M3U file, i've got some HTTP streams for pluto tv wich are working great in NextPVR but RTSP streams doesn't appears on channel list and seams that NextPVR doesn't read them natively like others do (iptv simple client, VLC, Tvheadend etc ....)

Is there a chance that in the future NextPVR read Real time stream protocol RTSP:// ???
That would be a great improvement I think.

I agree that sub the author has done a really good job of making PVR accessible to many users by reducing the complicated setup process often required. Things continue to improve behind the scenes too so it can only get better.

I am surprised that PlutoTV files work any better. There is an underlying issue in the stream itself so you probably were just lucky. Eventually you will find taht streams will freeze and recordings will not be seekable.

Recently sub replied to a request for rtp support https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=65883 and no doubt rtsp can be handled it a similar manner or potentially directly since NextPVR does have to use rtsp: for SAT>IP

For now rtsp is only available as a pipe though an extra

I confirm pluto tv channels are working great until adds appears, then it freeze and just have to go to anther channel and return after adds. So i can’t record only direct listenning.
I will try the extra xml file but it’s hard work for about 40 channels on my m3u file.
Hope one day nextpvr add native support for rstp:// steams ...

I'm trying to add extras-free.xml file like :

I don't typically support extras but that one is easy & is not valid in xml so you need to xml encode it.

After one hour I can get extras xml and device on NextPVR ...... but .... the channel isn't read, transcoding error ...
So I stopped here and retrun to tvheadend.
