I have been experiencing major lip sync issues with NextPVR 5.2.x .
Almost every time I start playing back a recording, the audio is off with the video by at least a second. Usually, hitting stop and resuming fixes it, but not always. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 attempts to do it.

Combined with Comskip, this is massively annoying, as the lip sync issue happens again almost every time a commercial is skipped.

I have seen this problem randomly in the past, but fairly rarely. Not to the extent it's happening now.

The entire UI also has gotten way slower in recent builds. All manual skip and rewinds are choppy. It's at the point where it's nearly unusable. I have a pretty beefy HTPC, and it just shouldn't be a problem.

How can I help get this bug fixed ?

FYI, I have been using Microsoft Decoders for all video and audio formats, except HEVC and E-AC3, for which I was using LAV decoders.
I just disabled HEVC and E-AC3 completely.

Now, I get different behavior. There is no more lip sync problem. But after a commercial skip, I lose audio completely. Sometimes, the audio comes back on within 10 seconds. Sometimes, it won't come back at all.

The performance problem is still there, though. There are major hiccups when skipping, which weren't present before.

Can you post a set of logs now you're using the LAV decoders?

Here is another set of logs.
All the decoders were set to LAV, both video and audio.
I just watched one recording of NCIS:LA .
I encountered lipsync issues many times.
I stopped/restarted playback a lot to recover from them.
I did not see the issue where the sound went silent this time around.

Folks need to copy this patch to both Program Files\NextPVR and Program Files\NextPVR\client as well right?

There should only be a single copy of the file in Program Files\NextPVR\client

I updated to 5.2.3, and then applied this update. I still have lip sync issues. I had one really weird one happen after doing a skip forward followed immediately by a skip back .  The video became extremely choppy. Pause/resume didn't fix it. The only thing that did was stop/play.
I even made a video on my phone showing how bad it looks. Will be uploading it .
Meanwhile, here are the logs.

Edit: here is the video . This was taken shortly before the logs were.
